Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited (APTRANSCO) came into existence on 1st February, 1999. APTRANSCO was established to restructure the erstwhile AP State Electricity Board (APSEB) to look after Trans-mission of Electricity in Andhra Pradesh. APSEB was come in existence in 1959.
Further APTRANSCO was unbundled on 1st April, 2000 into "Transmission Corporation" and four "Distribution Companies" (DISCOMS).
